Restaurant: Venue, Staff and Food

  1. The venue is pretty amazing, spacious, a mature atmosphere, excellent people watching, new facility, plenty of parking, 2 shows (one at 7p, one at 10p)
  2. The staff (waitresses) was very knowledgeable, ‘easy on the eye’ and very thorough, even though the place was packed, both shows were sold out
  3. The menu was pretty big, with gumbo, jambalaya & shrimp and grits.
  4. The food: I ordered the Cajun shrimp, crab mac and cheese & collards with sweet tea. The Cajun shrimp and mac/cheese was good, but the collards were just ok, tasted different than my moms SC recipe, maybe I’m just bias

Music: Peace & Love Band

  1. The band sounded amazing, even though there were sound issues. I believe the house insisted on using their own sound man and equipment
  2. Check out the link above, Peace and Love is one to keep an eye on

In business, whether that’s music business, acquisitions and mergers or whatever the medium, you should consult the proper legal representation to ensure yourself of potential catastrophic events on your project.

Billboard detailed how the movie ‘Straight Out of Compton’ is tied in litigation due to this detail from the movie. Simple misinterpretation or the wrong detail can put your project in limbo.

Its important to identify and understand your attorneys abilities. Remember a divorce lawyer probably won’t be able to help you with music law.

In the future, bouncers will play a more important role in protecting the public. As I said before, with all going on now, the cost, education and readiness of security at public events will be held to a higher standard.

Still confused about what Brexit is?

This Brexit thing is quite confusing, but let me take a stab at explaining it to you. Ultimately, I’ll let you be the judge on whether this is a good thing or just plain foolishness. Brexit basically means British Exit. In more simple terms, British independence from the European Union.

The European Union is like the biggest free trade club in the world. Why would you want to exit your membership to this club? The fall out from this event is so bad, our stock market today saw the worst 2 day decline since last August. Technically, the effects of this exit has not been good, I’ll tell you why.

DesertBardenas_36564823_l_Master_090715

Number, here on the 2nd day, trillions of dollars have been lost because British voters decided to leave the EU, TRILLIONS. I’m going to tell you the 2 issues this Brexit vote was about. #1 was the net fees Britain pays to the EU and #2 is the dysfunctional desire to cut off the free movement of labor. What do I mean by ‘free movement of labor’, the immigration issue. They forecasted they would save $8 Billion pounds per year, but the WORLDWIDE TRILLION DOLLAR vacuum they created simply squashes their forecasted savings.

So, their forecasted savings was non-sense, they’re not saving anything, the real issue was the immigration issue. The scary thing is their big banks are being propped up by the government. On day 2, they’ve already accumulated a 4 billion pound deficit, on day 2.

The UK imported 50% of what its people needs, at a cost of 660 billion dollars last year. Now, they have to pay roughly 66 billion dollars in cost due to the de-valuation of the pound.

Now, the people who voted for this, want a do over, yep, they want to go back to the way it was, but its really not possible now.

I say they made a bad move, I hope this doesn’t affect us all in a bad way.

You be the judge,

Is the used car you want a lemon or a solid buy? Let’s talk used car inspection

Now, recently I was interested in purchasing another sports car. It was getting close to my birthday and I had been eyeing this car for years. So, I decided to take the methodical route. Nah, I didn’t plan on taking my uncle to the dealership for brash negotiation, but I decided to use an inspection guide to give me feedback on this particular vehicle. So, the problem was to determine if this car would be a good buy or not.

OldWiseManWithProblemSolution_28351867_l_080915_Master

Initially, I questioned this inspection guide, because it was missing the bells and whistles from the view of the cover. I was also, not really impressed by the formatting. But when I opened it and reviewed the content, it covered the basics of how to use the guide. The layout is basic but very functional. This guide was created by a certified ASE automotive professional. This says a lot in the automotive world.

I also liked how he detailed his ‘tip’ sections. These are keys to listening and feeling out your new potential vehicle during rides or walks around the vehicle as it is running. As an automotive engineer, I really appreciated his 4 main focal point about the vehicle, the interior, exterior, under the hood and the underbody. His detail about ‘Body Panel Alignment’ is very important, the average used car purchaser is usually not aware that mis-alignments normally mean wreck or accident damage that should not be looked over, especially if it’s near the powertrain.

I highly recommend this inspection guide to anyone looking to purchase a used vehicle.

Ever wondered if you should invest in a company or not?

Yeah, that was perplexing to me in the beginning also. I would think, I am always buying this particular cleaning product. This product was always in my favorite dollar store. So one day, I decided to figure it out. I’ll make this easy for you. You just need a simple strategy.

Tray & Lalah_Resized Pics-page0001_jpg_opt_zamzar1000heightLove, Life & Heart

  1. First, understand that publicly traded companies on the stock market, must disclose all of their financial information to the public
  2. This means you can see the companies performance history, future expectations and all their financial data, these are your indicators
  3. This will tell you if the stock is worth buying
  4. Now recognize what’s in it for the company. They sell you stock in order to raise capital for their company. If they sale 500,000 shares at $2, they just raised $1,000.000.00. If the company re-invests this money into its people, overhead, etc.., there’s a good chance your shares of stock will increase in value and bring you a profit, yeah you, the investor

Ever had automobile air conditioning trouble in the summertime?

I think we’ve all had a problem or two with our car a/c units before. I was out yesterday helping a sweet old lady with her a/c unit issue, I had to put my automotive engineering degree to use. When it’s very hot outside, this is not a fun experience. So, let me pay it forward for you. Here are some things you can be mindful of this hot summer, whether you have an a/c unit now or not.

RoadBlack&White_33960948_l_080515_Master

First, if you feel your car not cooling of quick enough on a 95 degree day, you should call your mechanic or shade-tree mechanic and schedule an appointment for them to take a look at it. Your a/c unit may need refueling (Remember R-134 refrigerant is the new qualified brand, if your system is set for the old R-12, you may need to retrofit your system).

If your unit is not blowing or you only feel hot air coming from your a/c unit, check the following (How it’s supposed to work):

  1. Your a/c unit is made of a compressor, condenser, evaporator and expansion valve
  2. The refrigerant is compressed in the compressor (hot gas), hot gas turns to liquid state in condenser, then returns to expansion valve where it goes to low- pressure state where it is rapidly cooled in the evaporator
  3. Now your fan blows cool air into your car

Here’s what you do:

  1. If you are familiar there is nothing is jamming the condenser, this normally is located near the radiator
  2. Look for any loose wiring around the condenser or a/c unit components
  3. Review all engine belts, they should not be loose, detached or shredded, this could be a big issue
  4. If your fan or fan speed is an issue, you will need to check the circuit, maybe replace the resistor. If the fan is not actuating properly, your mechanic will need to review this

Hope this helps and was not too detailed, I generally speak in engineering language.

Ever thought of building your own website?

Well, it’s not as complicated a you may think. I recommend using wordpress, it is very user-friendly. The functionality of the website is simple, it is based on plug-ins, a very simple concept.

HowToCopyrightYourMusic_eCover_072815-page0001_zamzarjpg

To create your own website, you only need a domain name and a hosting package. I recommend using godaddy.com or hostgator to cover these needs.

I had to pick up a new language

Being an engineer, I have to deal with different cultures on a daily basis. Whether I’m traveling abroad or just on that 8:30 pm conference call communicating with subcontractors, partners, suppliers or customers, I’ve realized that communication is key. It’s just like when you’re in a relationship, communication is everything. A Native Chinese business associate recommended that I pick up Chinese to help with my development along the career path. I was skeptical at first, I didn’t really have time to learn another language. After he mentioned it about 10 times, I picked up the program. I only did this because my buddy was native Chinese and knew some other colleagues who also used the program and benefitted from the experience.

BusinessWomanWithPhone_19755119_l_Master_090215

Well, there were things that worked well and some things that could be improved about the program. I’ll start with some of the things that could be improved. Some of the translational phrases didn’t sound as we would say them, a couple just didn’t sound grammatically proper. This is an area I felt could be improved. The in-depth grammatical advanced detail was not present, but the basic foundation to cover beginners needs was definitely there. Any questions were answered in the forum, but I probably didn’t participate enough in the forum to get the full experience. I think there’s more to be desired from the forum. Some of the positive points were the dashboard, this was clear and user-friendly. The class structure and navigation was spot on. The setup is not cluttered, you won’t be intimidated by the amounts presented, it was very absorbable. The learning was as if I was having a conversation with a teacher, an interactive approach that will accommodate you at your schedule. You can also download the audio and use it while you work out. I also enjoyed the inclusion of the cultural component, you know, the customs, traditions. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this to a novice, anyone who has never spoken Chinese.
